Six take on The King’s Speech
THR reports that actors Guy Pearce, Helena Bonham Carter, Michael Gambon, Derek Jacobi, Jennifer Ehie and Timothy Spall are all being attached to the upcoming feature The King’s Speech. Tom Hooper, who recently helmed the sports biopic The Damned United, is directing this history drama. The story centers on a chronicle of King George VI’s effort to overcome his nervous stammer with the assistance of speech therapist Lionel Logue. Colin Firth is set to play King George VI and Geoffery Rush is already attached to be Lionel Logue. TV script writer David Seidler is penning the script with The Weinstein Company holding onto distribution. Gareth Unwin, Emile Sherman and Iain Canning are producing. There is no set release date for this particular drama for the US, and with the material that’s given it could be a blessing in disguise or not.[...]
