Norton’s agent responds to Marvel’s Statement

The news that Edward Norton wasn’t going to reprise his role as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in Marvel’s The Avengers was surely disappointing to most fans. The statement from Kevin Fiege, President of Production at Marvel Studios, stated that it wasn’t about money, but the need of an actor “who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members.” Norton’s agent, Brian Swardstrom of WME, responded with his own statement. According to HitFix, Swardstrom is angry that Marvel is “ purposefully misleading, inappropriate attempt to paint our client in a negative light.” What’s interesting is that Kevin Fiege contacted Swardstrom and wanted Norton to return for The Avengers.
